Compared to plating or thermal spraying, it has a thicker wall (5mm to 15mm) and boasts a very long lifespan. The ceramic sleeve is also shaped and fired to match the curvature of the bend pipe. There are almost no seams or steps, allowing for smooth transport without causing turbulence. There is no concern about flaking, which is a worry with chip lining.
